The electrolytic galvanic treatment consists of the deposition of a thin layer of a metal or an alloy on the surface of the support through the use of direct current (electrodeposition), in order to increase its resistance to corrosion, wear, and abrasion. In other cases, however, it is aimed at a purely aesthetic objective.

The deposition takes place in special production lines, made up of a series of galvanic baths.
